Jessey has previously been employed as an Apprentice Chef and more recently with Security Company Serco.
At Serco, Jessey worked as a Security Officer, Contract Compliance Officer and found his calling as a Safety Manager, working under the philosophy of: “if thirty people start a shift at work, thirty people will go home at the end of their shift safe and without injury.” Jessey also became a United Voice member.
His roles have taken him throughout the Immigration Detention Network caring for staff, stakeholders and Detainees. Through working for Serco Jessey has had experience in working across Australia, from Melbourne, to Weipa in Far North Queensland and across the country to Leonora in central Western Australia. Jessey lost employment at Serco when the Abbott Government closed the Pontville Detention Centre.
As a Labor Candidate and Local candidate for the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands Jessey is committed to finding Real Solutions for Real People:
- The development and improvement of the Tasmanian Public Education System
- The state economy getting businesses to re-invest in Tasmania and supporting local businesses
