Watsons Showcase Jewellers is home to a 17-carat diamond crown until Monday.
The crown, worth $250,000, boasts 631 glittering diamonds encased in sterling silver.
Manager of the Brisbane Street business Samantha Stevenson has invited people to have their photo taken wearing the crown, which was designed by Hearts on Fire for Miss Universe Australia.
She said plenty of passers-by had already been tempted to walk into Watsons thanks to the shop's window display.
``We've had old people, young people, babies,'' she said.
Watsons Showcase Jewellers will be the only shop in the state to showcase the crown.
Hearts on Fire director of design Ilaria Lanzoni created the item in about three months.
It travelled with Miss Universe Australia title-holder Olivia Wells to Russia in November.
Ms Stevenson said the crown's Launceston stop was a great chance for residents to admire some of the world's most perfectly cut diamonds.
Only 450 people are qualified to cut the stone for the range.
``In Tasmania we don't usually get an opportunity to try these things,'' Ms Stevenson said.
``Everyone deserves to be a princess for a day.''
