POLICE have confirmed the death of a Deloraine baby who was taken to the Launceston General Hospital last Sunday with suspected head injuries.
The baby, aged nine weeks, died last night in the Royal Hobart Hospital, after her life support was switched off.
Detective Inspector Scott Flude, of the Northern criminal investigation branch, said Launceston detectives were in Hobart today to attend the baby's autopsy and investigate the death.
``Obviously it's a very delicate issue,'' he said.
``We will be speaking to the baby's parents at an appropriate time.''
