Darryl Scott Donohue, 42, appeared briefly by video link on two counts of having incited to commit murder.
Mr Donohue has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police allege he tried to organise two men, in separate incidents, to murder his ex-wife, a Launceston woman. His matter will be mentioned next on March 17.
