The woman, who cannot be identified, pleaded guilty in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.
Police found her two young children home alone late at night in January 2012.
Magistrate Simon Brown found they had been left by themselves for more than two hours.
While the woman was not to be sentenced on the poor condition of the home, Mr Brown said the offence was aggravated because there were no beds for the children.
He fined her $350 for that offence and $200 for breaches of bail.
The maximum penalty for leaving a child unattended is a fine of $1950 and three months jail.
