ABOUT 30 people were evacuated from Hotel Launceston last night after a fire damaged an outdoor storage facility and needle pine tree.

Fire services were called to the Brisbane Street premises about 10.25. Two vehicles attended the blaze behind the hotel building.
Police diverted traffic from Brisbane Street and paramedics treated one person for smoke inhalation.
No patrons of the hotel were affected.
Co-owner Logan Pentland said there was no heavy machinery in the storage facility. ``Everyone is safe,'' she said.
Investigations continued last night.
