Detectives investigating the alleged murder of a man in Kingston last week have turned to the public for help identifying the owner of a vehicle seen in area at the time.

Detective Acting Inspector Craig Joel said police would like to speak to anyone who saw a 1991-94 model, light-blue coloured Mitsubishi Magna sedan near Pine Avenue, or driving through the city along Macquarie Street or the Brooker Highway to Glenorchy after midnight or the early hours of Saturday MOrning, January 18.
Just before midnight last Friday, 41-year-old Jason William McPherson was allegedly shot and later died at a home in Pine Avenue. His body was discovered in the back yard of the house.
“A major crime team has been established at Kingston Police Station and is sifting through a vast amount of information and evidence, however we are still appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” Detective Acting Inspector Joel said.
“Sometimes even the most fleeting glimpse or observation might be a critical link in the investigation,” he said

Brodie Leigh Price, 19, of Lenah Valley, was last week charged with the murder of Mr McPherson. He has yet to enter a plea and will appear in the Hobart Supreme Court on March 17.
