Two guests at Country Club Tasmania next Thursday will be randomly selected to act as 13th men for Ponting's Twenty20 tribute game that night.
They will get to join the likes of Adam Gilchrist, Mike Hussey, Brett Lee, Justin Langer and Matthew Hayden on Aurora Stadium in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Ponting and six of the players taking part in the game will speak at the lunch.
``I am finalising at least six other players to join me at the lunch and we are going to have a bit of fun talking about the past, the present and what might happen on Thursday night,'' Ponting said this week.
Ponting's manager and Ponting Foundation chief executive James Henderson called on Northern Tasmanian businesses to get behind the lunch.
``Imagine giving someone the chance to be 13th man in the game and, more importantly, help . ?. ?. make a difference for Tasmanian children with cancer,'' he said.
Funds raised will go towards the Ponting Foundation to help Tasmanians beat cancer.
