Forty-one-year-old Jason William McPherson was found dead in the backyard of a house in Pine Avenue at Kingston on Friday night.
Police yesterday charged Lenah Valley man Brodie Leigh Price, 19, with murder.
Mr Price appeared briefly in court yesterday before deputy chief magistrate Michael Daly.
He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody until Thursday.
