Two new Labor Ministers were sworn in by Governor Peter Underwood this morning at Government House to fill vacancies left by the former Greens Ministers.
Lyons MHA Rebecca White is the new Human Services Minister.
Derwent MLC and Leader of Government in the upper house Craig Farrell was appointed Corrections, Consumer Protection and Sustainable transport minister.
Mr Farrell said the appointment came as a surprise and he looked forward to being briefed over the next few days.
The Ministers will only hold the positions for the next four weeks.
''They say a day is a long time in politics,'' Mr Farrell said.
Attorney General Brian Wightman took over Education and Skills.
Premier Lara Giddings said she was proud to elevate the two new Ministers.
''All my new ministers have an important role to articulate the Labor agenda and highlight Labor values heading into the election,'' Ms Giddings said.
