Mr Morgan, who is a business adviser and analyst who has worked for the Department of Premier and Cabinet, will stand for the House of Assembly at the 2014 state poll in the seat of Braddon.
“I am confident that Kevin Morgan will be the next Premier of Tasmania,” Palmer United Party leader Clive Palmer said.
“Kevin is an outstanding family man with a strong track record in business and government. He has a passion for politics and public service.
“Kevin will lead a powerful team for the Palmer United Party in Tasmania that can win the election and in government work hard to put Tasmania back on the map after decades of neglect.
“Tasmania needs jobs and growth after years of neglect by Labor and the Greens.”
Mr Morgan said Tasmania needs a new vision and real leadership and only the Palmer United Party can make a difference in Tasmania.
“We are very confident of receiving strong support from Tasmanians at the state election and I know the Palmer United Party has all other parties running scared,” he said.
“The Palmer United Party is working to end the major party duopoly in this country and in Tasmania we will fix the damage done by Labor, the Greens and the Liberals.”
The Palmer United Party will announce its other Tasmanian election candidates next week.
