The Hadspen personal trainer took off her engagement and wedding rings and put them on a bench beside Hallams restaurant in Park Street, near Royal Park, about noon on Saturday.
She applied sunscreen to her fingers but forgot to put the rings back on before taking clients on a fitness walk along the nearby Zig-Zag track at Cataract Gorge.
``I remembered about halfway through the walk and it was quite a quick race back, but they had gone,'' Mrs Phillips said.
``So it was a very expensive personal training session.''
Mrs Phillips said she got married on November 30.
``I am devastated, as a wife most people can sympathise with me,'' she said.
``My husband [Mick] works away so I do not get to see him very often - the rings mean everything to me.''
She said her faith in human nature had been partly restored by the number of people who responded to her social media postings, and she hopes someone will do the right thing and hand the rings to police.
``I do not want new ones, I want mine back,'' she said.
``My heart just sank.''
