Woman dies following Kingston crash

A ROSETTA woman, 87, has died in hospital after a two-car crash at Kingston on Monday.

The collision occurred on the Southern Outlet about noon.

The point of impact was at the exit of a south-bound slip lane onto the Southern Outlet, just prior to the Kingston bypass.

The woman was the back-seat passenger in a white 1995 Toyota Corolla.

Paramedics drove the woman to the Royal Hobart Hospital and she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition, with head and chest injuries.

She died from her injuries last night.

The 69-year-old driver from Claremont and two other passengers, a 61-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man from New Mexico, were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital as a precaution and released a short time later.

The male driver, 21, of a white 2007 Mitsubishi van was also taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital and released that evening.

Police urge anyone with information about the crash to call police on 6230 2111.
