Lewis Hendey, 21, was killed on December 29 after being hit by a ute while cycling along the popular bike route.
The talented rower was on a training ride with his best friend when the crash occurred.
At the time the pair were riding north towards Rosevears, between Riverside and Legana, opposite the Tamar wetlands.
The Trevallyn resident died instantly after being hit and thrown up to 20 metres by the Nissan Navara dual-cab ute.
Tasmania Police Inspector Darren Hopkins said officers at the scene were yesterday investigating visibility, possible vision obstruction and the length of time before the cyclists would have come in to view.
``It was more or less a re-enactment so that we can provide a final report to the coroner but equally collecting evidence that might constitute charges,'' he said.
``At this stage it appears driver inattention [was the cause], there's nothing that's come forward to suggest otherwise.''
Police are calling for witnesses who might have seen the white Nissan Navara or the the cyclists around the time of the collision, which occurred about 8.20am on Sunday, December 29.
Mr Hendey, a popular and well-known member of the Tamar Rowing Club, was farewelled last Friday at a funeral service attended by 500 people at the Tailrace Convention Centre.
