Evans was first across the line after completing the 750-metre swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run.
He beat home Launceston's Jonathan Butler, who won the first event of the season two weeks ago, and Ulverstone junior Andrew Watson.
Natalea Smith, of Launceston, won the women's sprint race from Melissa Clark and Emma Smith.
It was the second triathlon of the Launceston Triathlon Club's season with novice and trystar events included on the race program.
``It was a great day with perfect weather and in both triathlons so far, we've had an increase in numbers compared to previous seasons so we seem to be attracting a number of new participants as well as returning ones, which is great,'' LTC spokesman Casey Mainsbridge said.
The novice male winner was Launceston junior Kier Crooks from Devonport junior Tom Roberts and Ulverstone's James Watson.
The women's novice event was won by Devonport's Frances Roberts with Emma Hill second and Liz McFarlane third.
