A 21-year-old Summerhill man has been charged with last month's armed robbery of the Wellington Street Newsagency as well as a string of home and business burglaries in the Launceston area.

Joseph Freeman, of Summerhill, appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court yesterday charged with 13 robberies allegedly committed in Launceston, Evandale and Longford between October 15 and December 1.
Police also allege that Mr Freeman robbed the Wellington Street News and Lotto at knife-point on November 21.
Magistrate Tim Hill remanded Mr Freeman in custody to reappear on December 13 via video link to enter a plea.
