THE Northern Bombers have recruited Smithton forward and four-time NTFL representative Damien Medwin for next year's State League season.
The 27-year-old Medwin has been one of the best forwards in the NTFL competition over the past few years.
He managed 70 goals in 2012 and this season kicked 48 despite missing the last six roster games with an ankle injury.
He then returned for the first semi-final and kicked six more.
Born and bred at Smithton, Medwin has played all his football for the Saints since juniors racking up about 150 senior games since 2005.
He spent 2008 playing for the Yarrawonga Pigeons in the Victorian Ovens and Murray League and last season played in the Northern Territory summer league for the Palmerston Magpies in our off-season.
"I felt like a change and a couple of my mates are going back up to the Northern Bombers next year to play Colts after coming to Smithton this year," Medwin said.
"It will be a challenge making the transition to State League but once I settle in I think I will be all right and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I thought it would be good to give it a crack while I still can and it's good to go to a club like North that is building."
