The Dorset Council has unanimously accepted a planning permit to build a $185 million eco-tourism resort development at Musselroe Bay.
The development by firm Melbourne Resort Development will include a 100 guest suite resort, 200 visitor accommodation units, 40 holiday villas, 80 serviced apartments and a 18-hole golf course.
The resort will house a fine dining restaurant, bistro restaurant, lounge bars, conference rooms, boardrooms and health club with a spa, sauna, solarium, massage rooms, gym and indoor pool.
A new 1.7-kilometre air strip and several walkways and tracks surrounding the complex will be created.
It is anticipated that the project will take five years to build and employ 700 labourers in the process.
