STREET orienteers will be trampling through parks and reserves across Launceston as the Esk Valley Orienteering Club starts warming up for its 2014 season.
A bus load of Launceston Church Grammar students took over Punchbowl Reserve during the week as part of the club's street series launch.
"We usually do runs on the weekends, but we've gone from there to Wednesday nights for the spring twilight series," planner Bob Healey said.
"They run six weeks before Christmas and for six week afterwards."
Australian No.2 senior boys orienteering champion Ashley Nankervis was also at the reserve, putting in practice during the sport's off-season.
Esk Valley Orienteering Club also offers orienteering training from 2.30pm on Saturdays near Trevallyn Dam.
