A CASUAL session at the Launceston City Council's new gym at its aquatic centre will be as high as $25 if council aldermen choose to endorse the fee.
That charge will cover all health and fitness programs on offer at Launceston Aquatic.
Single entry for group fitness will cost $15.
The fee structure for the council's new gym, to open next year, to be debated by council aldermen at a planning meeting this Monday and will appear for a decision at a future council meeting.
As it stands, members will be hit with a $149 joining fee for the gym and fortnightly charges of $40 for full access to all programs, the pool and spa, and $34 for just the gym area.
The fortnightly fees will be reduced to $24 for complete access and $20 for just the gym in off-peak periods.
The membership fees are slightly more expensive than those charged at Hobart Aquatic Centre, and more expensive than any other gym facility in Launceston after Fernwood.
The fees will be reviewed mid-June 2015.
