The men behind the No.1 song in the 2012 Triple J Hottest 100 will be joined by electronic music acts Empire of the Sun and American hip- hop group Public Enemy as the festival's main drawcards.
Old favourites Art vs Science, Parkway Drive, Drapht and Dead Letter Circus return, while local acts Luca Brasi, Akuou and Ash Tiffin vs Ceej will also grace the stage.
Co-promoter Clint Pease described the line- up as continuing the festival's tradition of presenting a multi-genre event.
"Having all genres for all people is a real key for Breath of Life," he said.
"To have Macklemore & Ryan Lewis headline just sets the bar higher, and then there's Parkway Drive, who are a massive band and Empire of the Sun will just present an amazing show.
"Art vs Science will have a new single and album and WIll Sparks is the biggest thing going around in the DJ world, so that's massive, and then there's Public Enemy, who are hip-hop royalty."
For the first time, the festival will offer discounted early bird general admission tickets (for $119.95), and the VIP ticket price has been reduced to $189.95. The VIP area will also be increased.
Tickets will go on sale from Oztix outlets from 9am next Thursday.
Breath of Life will be held at Launceston's Inveresk Showgrounds on Saturday, March 8.
