LAUNCESTON police have found two pistols belonging to bushranger Martin Cash, stolen from the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery earlier this month.
Police say the pistols were found buried outside Launceston by officers using a metal detector during one of eight searches during the past week.
No charges have been laid and no claim has been made on the $5000 reward offered by the Launceston City Council last week.
In a separate matter, a 22-year-old Ravenswood man has been charged with owning an unregistered and illegally shortened .410 shotgun recovered in one of the other searches.
He will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
