A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old have been charged over a home invasion at George Town overnight.
Police said that about midnight last night, the two males knocked on the door of a house in Franklin Street.
When the resident, 19, opened the door, it is alleged that one of the men pushed his way inside, assaulted him and demanded money.
He was able to escape the invaders and lock himself in a room.
It is alleged the two offenders then took money and belongings from the house and drove away.
Police were alerted and search two George Town residences, apprehending the 16-year-old and 19-year-old.
The man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court while the teen will be proceeded against under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
The resident received minor injuries and was taken to the Launceston General Hospital and was later discharged.
