Around 9000 homes and businesses are without power across North and North-West Tasmania, due to storm damage arising from trees falling through powerlines.
Northern areas affected include Liffey, Lebrina, Frankford, Pawtella, Hadspen, Hagley, Westbury, Carrick, Exton, St Helens and Steiglitz.
Areas in the North-West affected include Devonport, Penguin, Forth, Flowerdale, Yolla, Elizabeth Town, Sheffield, and areas south of Ulverstone including North Motton, Abbotsham, Nietta, Gawler, Gunns Plains, Loongana and Preston South.
Aurora says restoration delays will be lengthy, due to the number of outages and some customers could be without power for a day or more.
People are asked to keep clear of fallen powerlines and to report them to Aurora on 132 004.
