THE CAST and crew of Housos brought a storm to the North of the state when searching for Australia's biggest bogan.
The television show, a comedy about low-income Australians living in a housing commission area, had called for video auditions and travelled nationally on its Bogan Idol tour.
It is believed a George Town man was being filmed for the television show when another man interrupted filming by setting his car alight in a vacant lot.
The 51-year-old, who was found with a blood alcohol level of 0.185, was arrested and charged with committing a string of driving offences.
The incident was unrelated to the crew's filming.
The production team later visited Rocherlea and Ravenswood, where a party was planned at a former high school ground.
A Ravenswood resident said people were "doing burn-outs" in the former school after the crew failed to arrive on-site.
Police dispersed the crowd.
Cast member Kevin Taumata, who plays Kev in Housos, tweeted late Monday evening: "We had a wild day in Tassie, Ravenswood was good, but George Town went off ... Thanks to All".
The Examiner was unable to reach a representative from Antichocko Productions but an SBS spokeswoman was unaware the group was filming.
