RIVERSIDE'S Kade Philpott has won both the Southern Country and Southern Metropolitan Junior championships held at Llanherne and Royal Hobart on Sunday and Monday.
Philpott, 17, has recently returned from a year in Queensland where he attended Kelvin Grove School and played at the Indooroopilly Golf Club.
It was noticeable during both events in Hobart that he has extra distance off the tee and he is very accurate with his iron shots.
At Llanherne he set up his win with a two-under-par 70 first round and followed that with a solid 75. At Royal Hobart he adapted well to the lightning fast greens and carded 75, 75 to win both events and win the combined 72-hole championship by 13 strokes from Jack Tregaskisjago.
Fellow Tasmanian Georgia Milbourne won the girls' event ahead of Zahara Lemon, of North West Bay.
