The State Government is preparing to make a crucial announcement about major energy reforms amid Opposition claims the sale of Aurora Energy has collapsed.
The government had been in talks with potential buyers of Aurora's customer base ahead of the scheduled introduction of competition in the electricity market which would have given households a choice about their power provider.
The Opposition have grilled Energy Minister Bryan Green on the issue, alleging the sale process has been a "$50 million stuff up".
"I have received some advice. No decision has been made. The data room is still open and any decisions that need to be made, it's still open for a month, will be made in that light," Mr Green told Parliament this morning.
