LAUNCESTON'S boxing brothers Jack and Bailey Seabourne took the next step towards the national titles when they both won bouts in Burnie at the weekend.
Sixteen-year-old Jack won the 64 kilogram youth title when he overcame Hobart's Rory Rainbird while 14-year-old Bailey was judged the fighter of the night when he beat Victorian Jack Bowen in a 48kg bout.
The two boys are coached by their father Allan and both can now prepare for their national title bids.
Jack will compete in the Australian youth titles in Queensland in November while Bailey will represent Tasmania in the national junior and elite championships in Perth early next year.
To complete a successful tournament for Northern boxers, Latrobe's Luke Blackwell took the state 60kg youth title with a win over Hobart's Aaron Crossen and he will travel to Queensland with Jack Seabourne in November.
The Burnie tournament had 21 fights on the card watched by a crowd of 600.
