Police are hunting for a man and woman who robbed a St Helens service station at gunpoint early this morning.
Police say that about 2am this morning, a woman approached the glass front door of the 24-hour BP service station in Circassian Street.
When the attendant opened the door remotely, a man ran across the forecourt and into the store.
Both offenders had their faces covered, police say. The man, who was holding what appeared to be a firearm, then demanded money and escaped on foot with a small amount of cash from the register.
No one was injured in the incident, police say.
Forensic officers from Launceston and members of the Northern Criminal Investigation Branch attending the scene this morning and inquiries are continuing.
