ST PATRICK'S College will attempt to enter the Guinness World Records tomorrow with an attempt for the most people eating a cereal breakfast.
Students, staff, parents and friends have been called on to make up the 1600 people needed to break the last record of 1346 participants, according to college deputy principal Julienne Colman.
She said the attempt was the idea of year 12 students Lachlan McCarron and Zachary Colgrave.
Although Dr Colman admitted she initially had her doubts, she said the students were confident it was attainable.
``There will be someone there from the Guinness World Records to validate the event and we're confident we'll be able to do it,'' she said.
Dr Colman said the record procedure was quite strict and each participant must be seated and have their own bowl, spoon, cereal and milk, as well as a drink, to be counted.
She said Lachlan and Zachary's three main reasons for taking part were to bring the school community together, promote full student attendance on the day and also to promote eating a healthy breakfast before going to school.
