SES crews in the North are on standby to respond to the threat of flooding tonight and tomorrow morning.
The weather bureau has issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain that may lead to localised flash flooding or up to moderate flooding along the upper South Esk catchment.
The State Emergency Service and Tasmania Police advise that people should:
* Not drive, ride or walk through flood waters covering roads and bridges and obey any road closure signs.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* People living near small rivers and streams should be prepared to relocate stock or pets, secure their homes and move to premises on higher ground if flood waters approach.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES on 132 500.
