Police are investigating the theft of a number of chainsaws from a business at Scottsdale in the early hours of this morning.
About 3am this morning, two offenders smashed through the front door of McPhersons Chainsaws and Mowers in Cameron Street at Scottsdale.
Once inside, police say they took four chainsaws: an MS211, MS291, MS391 and MS461 series.
They then left on foot.
Police would like to hear from the occupants of several vehicles, which were near the scene of the burglary at the time:
- A white single-cab flat tray ute, possibly a 1990s or early 2000s model Toyota Hilux or similar,
- A white or silver Nissan Navara dual cab utility fitted with a snorkel on the left-hand side front guard, and
- A dark coloured large four-door sedan, possibly a VT Commodore or similar.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
