MAGISTRATE Tim Hill adjourned yesterday's sentencing of Rocherlea man Tristan Gilbert until tomorrow at 3pm.
Gilbert, 32, has pleaded guilty to causing death by negligent driving, failing to stop after a crash, speeding, driving with bald tyres and failing to ensure a passenger was seat- belted.
He was driving a turbo-charged Nissan Skyline on February 6, 2012, when he lost control of the wagon and slammed into a gum tree on the East Tamar Highway.
After the crash Gilbert and another passenger pulled Waverley's Troy Dolbey, 30, from the vehicle before calling an ambulance and fleeing the scene.
Mr Dolbey later died in hospital from his injuries.
Gilbert appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court for a brief period before Magistrate Hill delayed sentencing to consider other matters.
He remains in custody.
