A CORONER has made a public plea for information about a baby found dead in a Hobart park in two years ago.
The baby girl's body was found by a Kingborough Council worker in a park off Willow Avenue, Kingston, on the morning of October 17, 2011.
The placenta and umbilical cord were still attached.
Police made a plea for information at the time, and said it was not clear whether the baby was born in the park or just left there.
Coroner Olivia McTaggart said it was a "deeply saddening matter" and her investigation was unable to progress further without speaking to the mother.
Ms McTaggart said she was concerned about the welfare of the mother.
"I'm asking her to come forward to help me but also to receive the help she needs," she said.
"Anyone who can help me piece together the events surrounding this matter and allow me to make an informed conclusion should do so as soon as possible."
Anyone with information can contact police on 13 14 44.
