DAY one of the inaugural Tasmanian Outdoor Boat and Caravan Show could not have gone better, according to co-organiser Ken Gourlay.
The around-the-world yachtsman said about 2000 people visited Prospect's Silverdome to explore the 30 exhibitors present at the Tamar Yacht Club event.
Miss Tamar, styled on a 1920 22-foot speedster, is the marquee display of the show, which Mr Gourlay said had something for everyone.
``It [yesterday] was absolutely fantastic. The attendance we received was terrific,'' he said.
``We should be looking for about 10,000 people for the whole show.
``The highlight of the day was the whole show itself.
``Everyone was positive, everyone recorded good sales and all the consumers were happy.
``There is such a variety here and something for everybody, even for the kids.''
Exhibits include caravans, camping gear, cars, bikes, off-road vehicles, fishing and bushwalking.
The show, which is designed to promote outdoor recreation, is open today and tomorrow, and all the proceeds will go towards youth and junior sailing programs.
