The search for a kayaker missing in the state's south since yesterday afternoon has resumed this morning.
According to police, a 27-year-old Adelaide man set out from a jetty at Dover in a sea kayak to take some photographs about 4pm yesterday.
The man failed to return by dark and he was reported overdue to police at 6.30pm.
A sea and land search of Port Esperance was begun, concentrating around Hope Island and neighbouring coastline.
The man's kayak was found upturned just after 8pm yesterday just to the west of Hope Island between the island and the Blubber Head/Narrows Road area. A paddle was also found near the kayak, however there was no sign of the man.
This morning, three police boats, the Westpac rescue helicopter, 11 SES volunteers and some civilian volunteers are involved in the search, with land searches concentrating on the islands in the Port Esperance Bay.
Police say that, currently, conditions are mild and good.
