The double murder trial of Goodwood man Marco Daniel Rusterholz will require at least a week of preliminary proceedings before it goes ahead.
Mr Rusterholz appeared via video-link in the Supreme Court in Launceston yesterday.
The 49-year-old has pleaded not guilty to murdering Angela Maree Hallam, 31, and Joshua Eric Newman, 21, at Ravenswood last August.
Yesterday the court heard the prosecution had only recently received a large volume of forensic evidence related to the case.
Defence counsel Evan Hughes has submitted an application for a preliminary proceeding in the Launceston Magistrates Court.
Justice Stephen Estcourt adjourned the matter to September 2.
