A GEORGE Town man has been sentenced to 27 months' jail for 26 offences ranging from burglary to dangerous driving.
Yesterday Magistrate Tim Hill said it was lucky that Ricky Damien Brown, 27, didn't kill himself or someone else while carrying out the offences.
"You don't appear to have any respect at all for the law ... or the rights of other people," Mr Hill said.
"It was just lucky that no one else was hurt or killed by your acts."
Among the crimes were the burglaries of the State Library in Launceston's Civic Square and an Evandale business, which netted $9500 in cash and cigarettes.
Brown, who pleaded guilty to all charges, was also involved in a high-speed chase with police along Westbury Road.
Brown, who was shot by police while attempting to flee a burglary in 2011, had previously told the court the event left him traumatised and reliant on drugs.
Brown was on a drug rehabilitation program when he committed all but one of the offences, Mr Hill said.
He ordered Brown to serve 17 months backdated to June.
