The Launceston Tornadoes and North-West Thunder teams both suffered double SEABL road trip defeats over the weekend.
The Tornadoes lost the wooden spoon battle with Albury on Saturday night, 62-56, and went down to finals contender Sandringham 87-51 yesterday.
Olivia Howard was the standout against the Lady Bandits shooting 17 points with 11 rebounds while Katina Mandylaris scored 14 points with eight rebounds.
Mandylaris backed up to be the Torns best against the Lady Sabres yesterday with 10 points and 19 rebounds.
Lauren Mansfield shot 13 points and Mariah Payne scored 10.
The North-West Thunder saw its finals hopes evaporate as it dropped out of the top four in the southern conference with a 90-82 loss to Albury, followed by a heart-breaking 100-98 defeat to Sandringham yesterday.
Eric Gaff shot 21 points and had 10 rebounds against Albury and backed up with 18 and 12 against Sandringham.
Blagov Janev scored 17 and 27 points over the two games while Troy Payne was also consistent with 14 points and five rebounds in the first and 16 and 11 in the second.
