CLARENCE leap-frogged Launceston into third spot on the State League ladder, courtesy of its 45-point win over North Hobart at Bellerive Oval yesterday.
The Roos had their work cut out for them, battling a competitive Demons outfit in the first half.
They trailed by three points at quarter-time and led by just four at the main break but controlled the second half, booting eight goals to two to set up the 13.17 (95) to 7.8 (50) victory.
Matthew Lister, Brady Jones and Mitch Hibberd were among the Roos' best players, with Nick Paine and Jake Cox the only multiple goalkickers with two each.
Nick Gill booted three goals for the Demons, with Larry Owen their best player.
LAUDERDALE completely outplayed a disappointing Glenorchy side at Lauderdale to all but sew up fifth spot and a final's berth with a 13.25 (103) to 1.8 (14) thrashing of the Magpies.
Alex Hill and Alex Hevey led from the front for the Southern Bombers, with Robbie McManus kicking three goals and Hill and Nick Dodge two each.
Brayden Webb was Glenorchy's solitary goalkicker with no one named their best players.
