Rigney was the Thistles captain and best and fairest winner in 2007, and is continuing a family tradition at the club started by his father "Snow" and brother George, who was best and fairest winner in 2003.
As one of the club's favourite sons, Rigney said he was looking forward to this week's clash, which he expected to be a close, hard-fought match.
The Thistles have also announced their best and fairest winners for 2013.
Tom Allison took out the senior award with first-year player Sam Burrill runner-up.
Allison has become the first player to win three successive senior best and fairests for the club since David Saville in 1954-56.
The A-reserve award was shared by Chris Buswell and Jake Casey.
