Dr Muhammad Iqbal will move from Exeter to the Freshwater Point Road complex for the centre's opening on August 7.
Practice manager Penny Jenkins said she expected the centre would eventually hire two more doctors as demand increased.
It has already employed one nurse.
There is currently no medical centre at Legana.
``People can make appointments at either or, it's the same books and same patients' history will all be there,'' Mrs Jenkins said.
``It will be a normal doctor surgery and services provided.''
She said Dr Iqbal's existing patients were welcome to move with him and the practice would welcome new patients.
