In October 2011, Jalen, Harrison and Kobe lost their 10-year-old brother Noah. Three months later their father Aaron died from a massive heart attack, aged 39, while on a family holiday.
In the same time mum Lisa said goodbye to her son and husband.
Tomorrow, however, the family will play several roles in the AFL match between Hawthorn and Greater Western Sydney in Launceston.
The game will double as a fund-raiser for the Give Me Five For Kids charity, which raises money for the Launceston General Hospital children's ward.
Mrs King will toss the coin, Harrison, 8, will run through the banner with the Hawks and Jalen, 13, and Kobe, 4, will be a part of a guard of honour before the contest.
``Our son Noah was born with a condition called hydranencephaly, so he was missing half of his brain, and we were told that he would probably only live four years, but he lived to be 10,'' Mrs King said.
``His whole life he was severely disabled so we were in and out of hospital a lot with different illnesses . . . I think he had probably 50 admissions to hospital over his life.''
Mrs King said her husband was a massive Hawthorn fan and encouraged patrons heading to Aurora Stadium tomorrow to donate their spare change to the Tasmania charity.
``If you have got some spare money throw it in because it [the charity] helps so many people in the community, not just children like Noah,'' she said.
Give Me Five For Kids raised more than $6000 from the corresponding game last year.
There will be charity bins around the ground and on the Hawk Walk from the City Park for people to donate.
