Ballantyne out on rough conduct charge

MELBOURNE - Fremantle forward Hayden Ballantyne has accepted a one-match AFL ban on a rough conduct charge.

The Dockers utility was booked over a clash with West Coast's Scott Selwood during the first quarter of last Saturday's derby encounter at Patersons Stadium.

Selwood crumpled to the ground and was left nursing a sore head after receiving a solid bump from Ballantyne in an off-the-ball incident.

Ballantyne's poor record and carryover points resulted in the suspension even though Fremantle decided not to contest the charge.

On Monday, Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich was cleared by the match review panel after being booked for charging into the back of Eagles defender Will Schofield.

Pavlich will still will have to prove his fitness for the round-two clash on April 6 against the Western Bulldogs after he spent the night in hospital post-match because of a hand injury.
