Premier Lara Giddings, Opposition Leader Will Hodgman and Greens leader Nick McKim were among hundreds of people enjoying free sausages and activities at Hobart's waterfront today.
Ms Giddings said it was a strong show of community support.
``The compassion and generosity demonstrated by Tasmanians from all walks of life during this devastating bushfire season has been overwhelming,'' Ms Giddings said.
More than 40 bushfires destroyed about 200 buildings and burnt thousands of hectares of of land.
