THIRTY-FIVE buskers will take over Launceston's Brisbane Street Mall today.
But shoppers need not fear a cacophony of sound from musicians playing at once as the buskers will be performing as part of a talent contest.
The show, Cityprom's So You Think You Can Busk, will be held over five hours from 10am with buskers vying for a $1000 voucher to spend at a Cityprom business.
Performances won't be restricted to music, with living statues and renowned contortionist Ruby Rubberlegs in the mix with internationally acclaimed buskers PopEyed.
The public will have a chance to vote for their preferred busker in a people's choice category with Cityprom distributing fake money to throw in to a hat.
The busker with the most bucks will be named winner.
