What does being in the Victory League mean to your club?

Being in the Victory League gives us the opportunity to play at the highest level in Tasmania. If successful it would give us the opportunity to play other State League teams, so it means that we need to be very professional both on and off the field. We must be prepared to work very hard to give ourselves the best possible chance of succeeding.

What are your thoughts on your first three rounds of fixtures?

The first three games are very interesting. We have a home game to start, which is a nice change for South Hobart FC. After that its two very tough away games, Zebras and Northern Rangers. The Zebras game will be on the new pitch at KGV so tha'tll be very exciting. I think the first three games will give us a good indication of our playing strength.

Young players to watch from your club?

At South Hobart we have a very good development program that sees our keen young players training four days per week. We are now consistently seeing these young players breaking into our first team. We are expecting Nick Morton and Cam Rogers to play a significant part in our Victory League squad. We also expect former NTC player Lucas Hill to establish himself as a leading Victory League star.

Previous State League experience and history?

South Hobart is fortunate to have the services of Ken Morton who has had previous success in the State League with Rapid Wrestpoint and Hobart Zebras to name but two. His many years of experience have proven invaluable to South Hobart FC with our club winning five consecutive Southern Premier League titles.

Glenorchy Knights

Coach: Chris Hey

Captain: Jayden Hey

What does being in the Victory League mean to your club?

For Glenorchy Knights participating in the Victory League is extremely important as it will enable us as a club to provide a definite pathway to the highest level for all our players. It will also enable us to be part of lifting the profile of Soccer in Tasmania and particularly through the Glenorchy area.

What are your thoughts on your first three rounds of fixtures?

In the first three rounds Knights play South Hobart, Northern Rangers and then Kingborough Lions. South Hobart and Northern Rangers will be particularly tough but we are aiming for at least four points from our first three games.

Hopes for the season ahead?

Glenorchy Knights has a very young inexperienced squad which we believe will be very competitive. Our expectations for the first season are to finish at minimum mid- table. We realise with such a young team that our performances over the season will be variable with good weeks and others where we do not perform as well. As a club being competitive this year is our aim with a longer term goal of being at the top of the table in three years time.
