A great day to get your hands dirty

CHILDREN will be allowed to get slimier and messier than usual when Playgroup Tasmania marks National Playgroup Week at Invermay today.

The organisation will host its mega messy play day as part of the national celebration, which this year has the theme ``children's right to play''.

Chief executive Debbie Brown said the event would see children playing with slime, glitter and jelly crystals.

``It's an open day so the general public are welcome to join us . . . it will give kids a whole different tactile experience, and show parents what a playgroup does,'' Ms Brown said.

The event will be held at 35 Holbrook Street, Invermay, from 11am to 1pm. For more information visit www.playgrouptas.org.au.
