Devonport scores Cup victory

DEVONPORT City has won the Steve Hudson Cup Victory League final after scoring a 3-1 win over the Tilford Zebras.

The Strikers opened the scoring with a lucky goal from Daniel McGinn's corner, which bounced of a pack of players and was deemed an own goal.

McGinn was on hand to tap into an empty net after Brayden Mann's shot was parried down, allowing Bobby Eaves to square the ball back across the goals.

Joel Stone got Devonport's third about 20 minutes into the second half with a shot from about eight metres after the ball spilled to him from a corner.

With about seven minutes to go, Zebras got a goal when defender Kieran Mulraney toe- poked the ball into his own net while trying to cut out a pass.

Riverside Olympic scored a goal in each half to beat the Prospect Knights 2-0 in the Northern Premier League final.

Sam Hughes got the opener after he was played through one- on-one in the first 15 minutes.

Olympic scored soon after the restart when Todd Mitchell put through Mitchell Jones who slotted the ball under the keeper.

UK import Shane Brassington got a hat-trick, John Wani scored a brace and Yitay Towns, Josh van Zetten and Harry Thannauser got a goal each.

United got a consolation goal with a good header from a cross in the second half.
