QUEENSLAND dominated Tasmania in the opening-round matches of the All-Australian vigoro titles being played at Windsor Park yesterday.
Eight teams and about 80 players are taking part in the week-long championship from Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania in state senior No.th1 and No.th2 and junior divisions.
In the state 1 match yesterday, Queensland defeated Tasmania by an innings and 13 runs.
Queensland's Kristen Dempsey scored 27 not out.
Tasmanian captain Lynn Hendley hit 15 runs and took 3-4 with the ball.
The state 2 game saw Queensland win by an innings and 34 runs.
Queensland's Sonia Reid scored 41 with the bat and Rosie Vittman hit 26.
Kerryn Nash took 5-22 and 5-14 with the ball.
For Tasmania, Katie Turner was the best with the bat, scoring 12 and 11, and Kate Hall took 3-19.
In the junior match, Queensland defeated Tasmania by an innings and 59 runs.
Queensland's Tayla Dempsey scored 48 not out and took 5-8.
Tasmania will play New South Wales today.
